Calcium (Ca 2+) and magnesium (Mg 2+) ions, which are known among ions in raw water and cause hardness in water-using industries, are most likely to cause problems. These ions negatively affect the quality of products in textile and chemical industry, machine industry, surface and heat treatment baths. In addition, water softening systems are widely used for industrial and domestic purposes as they cause problems in heating-cooling systems, steam boilers, circulation systems and pipes.
The regeneration of ion exchange resins used in water softening systems is divided into direct current and reverse current. Especially for softening of water with high hardness, reverse current regeneration system is used. Because this both prevents hardness leakage and reduces salt and water consumption on system.
