Nanofiltration System

CATEGORIES

Nanofiltration Systems are used for hardness removal, bacteria and virus removal, demineralization, desalination, COD removal and waste water recovery by passing the water through a semi-permeable membrane with a mean pore structure of 0.001 micron.

Nanofiltration (NF) technology is used in cases where reverse osmosis and ultrafiltration are not suitable for separation with special membrane pore diameter. Where other alternatives are not appropriate, nanofiltration can be used instead of demineralization, color removal, COD removal, waste water recovery and desalination.

Suspended solids and polyvalent ions in organic solutions are removed. In permeate, low molecular weight solutions such as monovalent ions and alcohol remain.

In this system, all bacteria, viruses and cysts can be removed. Nanofiltration also separates alkalinity from water. Therefore, the water obtained can be corrosive. Nanofiltration membranes are also known as softening membranes, as NF also separates minerals that cause hardness in water.

Nanofiltration System Uses

Nanofiltration systems are membrane separation methods in between a molecular weight limit between ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis. Used to remove bacteria, viruses, organic residues and hardness.
